I Love You, Stick Insect by Chris Naylor-Ballesteros

I Love You, Stick Insect, written and illustrated by Chris Naylor-Ballesteros, and published by Bloomsbury is the tale of a romantic stick insect who is looking for love.

Stick insect is well and truly swept off his feet by the most beautiful fellow stick insect he’s ever seen and immediately starts trying to woo her by describing all the wonderful times they can share together; ice skating arm in arm, sharing candy floss or surfing the ocean waves.

However, they say that love is blind and in this case a helpful butterfly notices that something isn’t quite right with stick insect’s sweetheart – it’s actually just a stick. But of course, stick insect has fallen hook, line, and sinker and just doesn’t hear it.

We love looking at all the adventures that stick insect dreams up for him and his new love. This is a particular favourite of ours with the two love-struck stick insects sharing a bucket of popcorn, even their antennae are reaching towards each other!
