Oi Puppies! By Kes Gray and Jim Field

Oi Puppies! is the latest in the brilliantly funny rhyming series of Oi books by Kes Gray, illustrated by Jim Field and published by Hodder Children’s Books.

For those unfamiliar with this series it all started when a Frog was told, in Oi Frog!, to sit on a log, because it rhymes and those are the rules. But this rebellious little frog decided to shake things up and has been making up new rules and sorting out sitting and rhyming dilemmas ever since.

This latest book has been overrun by untrained and energetic puppies who will not sit on the previously prescribed guppies. The grumpy cat is as unimpressed as ever and they are even testing the patience of the usually happy-go-lucky dog.

Frog has a solution, if these puppies won’t sit on guppies they can sit on something that rhymes with their names!

Now there’s no problem getting these unruly pups to sit down, with Milo on a Lilo, Rover on some clover Smudge sitting on fudge there is a place for everyone.

With Jim Field’s fabulous illustrations and Kes Gray’s silly rhymes that get more bonkers as the book goes on (Cheeky sitting on tzatziki is my personal favourite) this is a great addition to this well loved series.
