Prepare to see the world as you’ve never seen it before in this amazing reference book from DK Books – What’s Where on Earth Atlas.
Breaking the mould of traditional atlases, this book brings the different landscapes of the world to life in brilliantly detailed 3-D maps and artwork. Starting with a chapter about the Earth in the beginning, the evolution of our planet is explained in clear stages with descriptions of the animals and plants that thrived and the how the land masses came to be the continents we know today.
Each continent is covered in fantastic depth with rich and detailed illustrations showing many different features of the land; the countries and cities, the landscape, how the climate changes, populations and fascinating satellite images of the continents by night as well as during the day.
Famous landmarks both natural and man made are featured alongside pages dedicated to wildlife and nature that are unique to each different area around the globe.
This book is absolutely crammed with facts and figures and the design is perfect with information easily accessible. We particularly like these infographic spreads of fascinating facts; did you know there are 16 different time zones across Asia, or that more than 2000 languages are spoken in Africa?
This would be a great gift for any geography enthusiasts and with its content supporting the National Curriculum up to Key Stage 3 it would be the perfect addition to a classroom or school library.
